Margaret Cummings Neel of Stevensville, MD passed away peacefully at her home on March 25, 2013.
Born February 7, 1917, she was the daughter of the late Tracy and Aline Moser Cummings. Margaret grew up in San Francisco as a socialite in the 1920s, where she became an affluent artist. Her specialty was mosaic murals, commissioned throughout the country by the elite for their homes and offices. She traveled around the country as an executive to the Arthur Murray Dance Studios teaching her specialty, ballroom dance.
Margaret and her husband, Craig, a former special agent in the FBI, loved to travel various waters on their 50 ft. yacht of paradise. She had an extrasensory perception of her sixth sense that got her commissioned by the Paranormal Society of San Francisco, beginning in her early teens.
Margaret brought her colorful life to Kent Island in 2008 after her husband passed, and lived with her daughter, Madeline Beals and her husband, Paul Beals. She is also survived by her children, James Craig Neel, IV of San Francisco, CA and Michele Robinton and her husband, Michael of San Francisco, CA. Of her sixteen grandchildren, those that live locally are: Justin “Wolf” Kiernan, Rory Kiernan, Tristan “Foxy” Kiernan, Neel Kiernan, Josh Kiernan, Alex Kiernan, David Kiernan and Heather Kiernan. Margaret also leaves behind 10 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her siblings: John Cummings, Tracy Cummings, and Celena Cummings.
Margaret’s family will celebrate her life privately.
